Spin Gul purportedly in his late 20s succumbed to his wounds in hospital after he burnt himself in Kabul on Monday, April 18, 2022.

Spin Gul left behind his four children, his wife, and his elderly grandmother.

The grandmother said his grandson committed suicide after being extremely impoverished following the transformation of the regime in the country.

Brother of the slain Spin Gul said, his brother was working with his cart and was the only breadwinner of his family for the last several years but had lost his mental order recently.

Zazai added that his brother was a 12-grade graduate pleading with his fellow countrymen to give them hand.

Interior Ministry of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan denied Spin Gul committed suicide due to a bad economic situation adding that he had mental disorders.

This comes as people in Afghanistan are going through the worst humanitarian and economic situation in decades as over half the population needs lifesaving assistance.
