Dramatic footage and images have emerged of a fire that has broken out in Surrey this afternoon. Crews from across the county, and also Hampshire, have been battling the large fire at Ash Ranges since just after 1.30pm today (April 23).
A retired firefighter, who goes by the Twitter handle @FireSnapper999, was at the scene and captured the above footage and images of the blaze. Smoke can be seen billowing across the area, and the fire service has advised people who suffer with breathing difficulties to remain indoors.
Others have been warned to stop walking around in the smoke caused by the fire. Crews continue to tackle the blaze. It is not currently known what caused the fire.
